Pál Gyulai, falsely Paul of Gyulai (born January 25, 1826 in Cluj, Transylvania, † November 9, 1909 in Budapest) was a Hungarian poet and critic.

Gyulai completed his schooling in his native city and later taught even at the local high school. He then worked as a journalist in Pest, until in 1875 he was appointed professor of Hungarian literary history at the University of Budapest. From 1858 he was a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, from 1870 Secretary of the first (linguistic and scholarly) class of the same and from 1881 President of the Kisfaludy Society.

As such, Gyulai has authored numerous reviews and studies, i.a. about the writer Sándor Petőfi, his brother-in-law. This he published in the edited by him Budapest Review and other magazines.
